Encouraging Blasts #1013
What Are You Asking God for?
Luke 11:11-13 King James
11 "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
Beloved of God what are you asking for, more money than your making, a larger home than the one you live in, a car or the newer model; a companion or the younger more beautiful handsome virile model, shopping at the mall (my daughter's favorite), a vacation to an exotic destination, a new city to live in, wealth and fame like your favorite sports figure or entertainment idol; maybe it's something more noble like salvation for a family member or friend, healing in your body and mind, or just rest and peace from the grind of living life? Once again I find myself desiring more of God's Holy Spirit in my life and there is this song, "Walk In The Spirit" that is continually on replay inward, even noticeably in my dreams. Fame fades, vehicles rust, beauty wrinkles, money devalues, building rot, and concerns, well they will continue to consume our life if you let them. But Ruach Hakodesh (the Holy Spirit) of God will always and forevermore remain lively and vibrant in the life of a believer if you ask God for its continual presence. The greatest gift beyond life and salvation is the active indwelling of God's Holy Spirit. Do you want God to give you His Spirit? Just ask and God will, if you trust in his word.
Set Sail and Journey well in God's word.
